Hi,
I've just installed and started to use IFC2SKP. I can upload the sample files from your sight but every time I attemt to upload a file from one of mye projects Sketchup crashes. does anybody have any tips on how to create IFC files that are compatible with IFC2SKP and Sketchup?

What are you using to create the IFC file?

I've tried with both IFC files from Revit and Archicad. Both seem to start loading and the counter for import of objects in the Sketchup status bar starts but then subsequently stops after a number of objects, depending on the model. I've tried limiting the import to for example just slabs but the same thing happens.

What version of SketchUp. Hopefully it's either 7 or 8.  The only way to know is by someone looking at the model.  If these models work but your model does not, I'm not sure what the issue is

I'm using Sketchup 8 (free version - not Pro). Do you have any suggestions as how to clean up an IFC file for import to Sketchup? For example using Solibri Modell optimiser or Simple BIM?

No. I don't.  This is a shareware program.  Other than getting it to run in the latest version of SketchUP, it's not supported.  Also, can't really tell what the issue is without receiving the model and having the developers look at it.  Did the samples work?
